Look Who's Walking

The reason I knew it was time to post the stuff about Halloween was because as of yesterday I can see that things are happening a lot faster now a days. After dinner we were hanging out in the living room playing with Stella when she took her first steps. I would say it was about five of them. They weren't staggered either, they were quick.

Stella loves to hold your hand or hands and walk around as you help to keep her up. If your not around she hold onto whatever around her and just walks around it. But yesterday she was left without either option and I guess that made her take her first few steps. She was playing with some small blocks in her hand's that she was smashing together to keep a beat when she then proceeded to stand her self up using the ottoman. With both blocks in her hands and her mom a few steps away she took the plunge. She put her one foot in front of the other with no help from anyone. The silence in the room was astounding. The last thing I remember hearing was everyone taking in a deep breath. Belinda's face was frozen in a smile of surprise like someone told her she won the lotto. She ended Stella's longest walk with a big hug when she made it over to her.

Such a great moment I was glad we were both there to see it. We had seen her take a step here and there before, but never a true walk. So for the record Stella you took your first steps on November 17th. We should have known it was coming. She use to enjoy being held up by two hands. Then it was just one hand. Soon it will be no hands.
