We went out to a fair another day in October. It was out in Boerne, Texas. We were invited out by some friends to go spend the day out there and perhaps do a little shopping around. So we loaded up the car and headed on out. The downtown can't be larger than a four block perimeter. They were having a classic car show at the same time as a street fair so we got to see some great old cars.
The fair had a wide variety of items to shop for. There were people selling homemade jewelry, holiday decorations, photographs, spices and much more. We didn't buy much but we did buy one thing I thought we would never buy.
While walking I could see this booth coming up that had these two very energetic people standing at it who you could tell were waiting for us to get closer. I had no idea what they were selling but you could tell whatever it was, they thought we were the perfect people to shop. So as we get closer Belinda has Stella and I have the stroller and we get to speaking distance from this couple and they cry out, "What's her name?"
At this point I knew what was coming. They had a laptop, a stack of Cd's and a speaker right in front of us. Not five seconds later Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star came on and it was being sung with Stella's name in the Lyrics.
I'm not going to say who it was that pushed for the purchase, but just know I was creeped out by the whole thing. You see, right when the music starts but before the lyrics kick in this woman's voice comes out and starts to give a speech. So right as this lullaby is going to start you hear, "STELLA! (pause) sleep baby girl. Let your dreams take you to a happy place" or something like that.
I mean really. She is 10 months old. Are her dreams still better than her reality? But it's just the way the name is said in a staccato form while the rest is in a legato form. This happens throughout the lullaby CD. It might help her sleep better, but it still creeps me out.
So we shopped around and hung out and had a great time wandering the streets. I stumbled across a store front that I thought required a photo be taken:
Get it! Get it? I know. I'm cheesy.
I will point out something else of importance in this photo. See that stroller in the background getting pushed around by Mrs. Chapa? Yeah, that's Stella's. Guess how long she stayed in it. That's correct, not very. At least it helped carry the purses and stuff during the outing.
I am glad that we made the trip out there. We had a great time with our friends and it was nice visiting the town. Highly recommend the outing to others.
