Stras Who?!

Stella, the other day we went shopping for you. Your mom wanted to get you a special dress for Easter that she had seen made by the company Strasburg Children. They did not have it in the right size at one store so the following day we went to another location to find the dress.
I will bite my tongue about the cost benefit analysis of the clothing, but I will say that your mom always gets me with the, "Its her first___(Insert Anything Here)____."

So we get to the store and start looking around for the dress. I had never seen it so I'm picking up everything and saying,
"Is this it?"
"no."
"Is this it?"
"No."
"Is this it?"
"NO!"

So finally this woman starts to approach just me as I had moved away from your mom's glare. And by saying approach what I really mean to say is she yelled at me from across the way. I had seen the woman but assumed she did not work at the location. Why you ask. How can I put it nicely. She could have been your great great great great grandmother.

So she yelled at me in a voice that sounded stressed, "Can I help you?" I was still under the assumption that she was a customer and not an employee so I just watched as she moved towards me. With her head looking down and her shoulders leaning forward she moved each foot in my direction two inches at a time. I didn't think she had worked there very long as the floors had a rough feel to them and not the smooth finish you would expect from the sanding they were receiving daily.

So she said it again, "Can I help you?" this time a little annoyed. And I explained to her that I was looking for a dress made by the company Strasburg.
"Stras WHAT."
I again said, "Strasburg."
"Stras WHO."
"Strasburg."
"WHAT?"
"It's called Strasss......buuurg." and before I could finish.
"I don't know I just started working here four days ago, the dresses are over there."

So I went to the direction she pointed wondering not only why did they hire this woman, but why did she want to work? There were no Strasburg dresses to be found in that area and your mom was disappointed. She hadn't heard my conversation with the lady so I was waiting to tell her my thoughts on the situation when someone we believed was the manager came to the area.

"Mary are you all alone today?"
"WHAT?
"Is anyone else with you in the unit?"
"HUH?"
"Are you working by yourself?"
"I don't know!"
The manager walked away annoyed and your mom and I started to walk away also.

One of the things your mom and I see differently is the concept of saving for retirement. So I pounced on the opportunity and looked at your mom and told her, "Do you still think saving for retirement is a bad idea. "

Your mom and I could not stop laughing at the face of the manager when she walked away. It was clear that it was not her decission to hire the woman. We had to rush to the bathroom for your mom it was so funny. I will say this, we have no idea why she was working. It could have been unfortunate circumstances. It could have been bad planning. It could simply have been she was not the type to stay home and sit around so she was going to get a job. But whatever the situation was I hope it was her choice to be working still.

So save your pennies early. It will make life a little easier later. Now I still have to work on your mom to agree with me.
Here is a photo of a girl in those dresses. I told your mom that you didn't want one either just like this little girl didn't.
I told her that all you wanted was a bow in your hair and your pacy(Spelling?)
