Well, Stella had a great time at her quiceanera. She was having so much fun that night she didn't want it to stop. She kept asking about the after party and why were we trying to go to sleep when the party just started. Needless to say, she kept us up all night.
Her cake was a red velvet cake. It's more her mama's favorite, but since we were the padrinos and she wasn't going to eat any of it anyway we went with that choice.
We did not have the time to bake ten cakes and put them on pedestals connected by plastic steps where we could put her court. Speaking of court, the only person who was going to be in her court did not make it. Apparently Chupi got busted smuggling something out of the hospital and was placed back in solitaire.
I'm not sure how many people watch a lot of television, but if you have not seen it there is a show on MTV that is dedicated to sweet sixteen parties. They show case these wealthy families that are throwing these huge parties for their teenagers. At the end of each of the episodes there usually a part where everyone goes outside and the parents present the daughter with this huge present. Generally it is some extravagant car that they allegedly purchased for the child, but I still believe they rent them for the sake of the cameras.
In honor of the television show we here at Casa Gonzalez tried to imitate the show on a much smaller scale. We rolled out her brand new stroller that arrived in the mail.
On the television show the crowds go wild! All the girl's little friends are yelling like they just saw a Jonas Brother. When we rolled out the car (stroller) Stella fell asleep. And when we went to put her in the car (stroller) to take it for a test drive she started to cry. Apparently she wanted the leather interior option.
As I mentioned she slept through the rest of the party until everyone was ready for bed. That's when she woke up and let us know she wanted to party into the early hours of the morning.
Here she is during the party.
The after party photos are not as cute so I won't be posted.
