It has been four weeks now and my time off from work has come to an end. When I first submitted my paternity leave paperwork I thought I was signing up for a vacation. Boy was I wrong. I think we worked more away from work than we did at work.
I will tell you that I had big plans of the things I was going to accomplish while home with the baby. I was going to finish painting the house. Hangup all the frames on the wall. Trim some of the trees that were getting a little long. Change some of the light fixtures in the house. Catch up on some reading. Paint Stella the work of art I wanted for her.
BOY WAS I WRONG!
I guess I assumed that Stella would sleep all day except for the thirty mins it would take her to eat and then go back to sleep. I figured I would put her in her crib and carry around with me the baby monitor never really needing it cause you know, she was going to be asleep.
Just so y'all know. I got none of the above mentioned things accomplished except pulling weeds int he back yard and that was only cause I was afraid of the HOA getting on me.
People said that staying home with the baby was going to be hard and they were right. A lot of people have been telling us you forget about the first months of pain after the first sign of understanding your baby's face. Lucky for Stella we are keeping a journal to remind her when she becomes old enough to understand.
With all that said I miss my two lovely ladies that are at home right now. When I left for work this morning they were both half asleep as no one really ever falls fully asleep. Stella all snug in her bed and Belinda saying I looked nice this morning even though the lights never were turned on in the room. Such the wonderful wife.
I don't know how long I will be able to keep this up now that I am back at work but I will try.
