A Nights Prayer

Last night Belinda and I needed to walk off some extra emotion from Stella being poked all over as the nurse tried to find a vein for her I.V. First it was her arm again, then her feet, then her head on both sides.

So we ended up inside the hospital chapel. It was unintended, but felt completely right. We walked up the center isle and sat at the front of the church. We spoke about getting Stella home and how good it would be not having to leave her with strangers again.

While we sat there a lady came in and sat in the back and said her prayer. I saw her stand up and start in our direction. She lowered her head and said to us, "I don't know why I came in here. I was just walking by and felt this need to come in. I cant help believe that I was brought in here to pray for you. Do you mind?

We agreed.

She took our hands in hers and began to pray. She asked for God to show us mercy and grant us peace. That our journey be safe and that his will be done. She left just as fast as she entered.

It was very strange the comfort I felt after she left. It was a feeling of peace. I realized this complete stranger represented everyone out there praying for us. I wanted to say thank you to everyone for this and everything else that friends and family have done. Tonight is suppose to be the last night Stella is away from us. If all goes well she will get a clean bill of health and be allowed to come home. We couldn't have done it without you.

Goodnight.
